Program description
In the Bachelor of Science program in tourism development and management with a concentration in resort and hotel management, you prepare for leadership roles in the accommodations sector. The program emphasizes guest services; operations; the integration of lodging, food and beverage management; and sustainable business practices.
You explore how resort and hotel systems function and how collaboration among suppliers, vendors, guests and community stakeholders shapes the hospitality industry. Coursework combines classroom learning with applied experiences, including internships and professional engagement opportunities.
Through these learning experiences, you develop the knowledge and skills to promote innovation, quality service and responsible management across resorts, hotels and related hospitality organizations.
Why specialize in resort and hotel leadership at ASU?
This concentration connects classroom learning with applied experiences, including internships and professional engagement, so you graduate with more than theory. You'll practice skills in professional settings and gain hands-on experience before you finish your degree.
You can also accelerate your path by combining a bachelor's degree with a master's degree, finishing both in as little as five years. This option lets you move into leadership roles sooner.
