Applied Science (Aviation) degree description
If you've received training and education in some aspect of the air transportation industry, such as air transportation management or flight maintenance, as part of your associate degree, the concentration in aviation within the Bachelor of Applied Science program is for you. You receive an orientation in management practices.

This program prepares you for leadership in the aviation industry. Compared with many aviation degrees that emphasize aircraft systems or flight operations, this program places greater emphasis on FAA regulations, safety management, transportation policy, operational leadership and organizational decision-making.

Students applying to this program must have completed an Associate of Applied Science degree from a regionally accredited institution. This program is not available to first-year students.
Transfer admission requirements:
This BAS program allows students who have an applicable AAS degree from an accredited institution to transfer 60 credit hours toward a BAS degree at ASU. Following transfer to ASU, students pursuing this degree may have more than 60 credit hours to complete in order to obtain their BAS. Students who have earned an AAS degree from a regionally accredited Arizona community college may be eligible to transfer up to 75 credits toward the BAS degree. Students should work with their academic advisor to ensure their courses meet degree requirements.
Students interested in changing to this BAS program must have completed a related Associate of Applied Science degree from a regionally accredited college.
A current ASU student must have a minimum cumulative ASU GPA of 2.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A").

When you pursue concurrent degrees (also known as a “double major”), you earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. Working with your academic advisor, you can create your own concurrent degree combination. Some combinations are not possible due to high levels of overlap in curriculum.
Aviation is a global industry, and understanding intercultural communication is vital to succeeding in it. Study abroad programs, offered around the globe, give students insight into the study of aviation. Students can further their skills in communication and administration, and gain commercial experience in an international setting. Students earn ASU credit for completed courses while staying on track for graduation, and they may apply financial aid and scholarships toward program costs.

Frequently asked questions about degree programs
Accelerated programs allow students the opportunity to expedite the completion of their degree.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master's during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
Concurrent degrees allow students to pursue their own personal or professional interests, earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. To add a concurrent degree to your existing degree, work with your academic advisor.
Joint programs, or jointly conferred degrees, are offered by more than one college and provide opportunities for students to take advantage of the academic strengths of two academic units. Upon graduation, students are awarded one degree and one diploma conferred by two colleges.
