Degree description
The Master of Business Administration program provides you with a solid foundation in the core business disciplines. You develop analytic and leadership skills that are essential to making sound business decisions. Through a comprehensive business curriculum taught by distinguished faculty, the MBA program enhances your strengths and helps you immediately impact your organization.
You can personalize your MBA through evening and online classes while earning your degree in two to four years. The curriculum is delivered in a case-based, team-oriented and discussion-style learning environment. Elective courses provide additional depth and breadth to enhance an area of emphasis, your knowledge base and career goals.
The evening MBA program is well-suited if you are a working professional who is seeking to continue working full time while attending school. The program can be completed in 21 months, depending on course formats, and begins in the fall or spring.
A W. P. Carey School of Business MBA stands apart from many part-time MBA programs that consist of a core business curriculum with very little specialization. The program offers more than 40 electives and options to add concurrent degrees and technical certificates, enabling you to align your MBA with your passions and pursue a degree at the same time. The MBA program is supported by each of the eight academic units within the W. P. Carey School.

Required Core (3 credit hours) Electives (42 credit hours) Culminating Experience (3 credit hours) Additional Curriculum Information The school does not accept graduate credits earned while students are in nondegree status, or courses taken before admission to the MBA program or while enrolled in another MBA program outside the W. P. Carey School. Registration in W. P. Carey School courses numbered 501 and higher is limited to students who have been admitted to a graduate degree program and have the approval of the MBA program office. The core course is designed to provide a foundation in business knowledge and skills and must be taken in the prescribed sequence. Elective courses build on the business core and center on the further development of an area of emphasis. Possible additional requirements vary by area of emphasis. The program is completed in 21 months. All students must meet the comprehensive requirement established for the MBA by the W. P. Carey School and the Graduate College. The comprehensive culminating experience is integrated with MGT 589 Strategic Management. Students who pass this course with a grade of "B" (scale is 4.00 = "A") or higher satisfy the comprehensive examination requirement.

Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the W. P. Carey School of Business. Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program or a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in an applicable master's degree program. All applicants must submit: Additional Application Information Letters of recommendation should comment on the student's motivation, commitment, achievements, work experience and likely success in the program. An applicant whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency regardless of their current residency.

ASU offers formally approved and coordinated degree programs at the graduate degree level. These programs include a designated number of approved credit hours that are shared by two degrees. For most concurrent degree programs, you apply once through the ASU graduate application. However, if you want to pursue a concurrent program that includes a law degree, you must submit both the ASU graduate application and the law school application.

Frequently asked questions about degree programs
Accelerated programs allow students the opportunity to expedite the completion of their degree.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master's during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
Concurrent degrees allow students to pursue their own personal or professional interests, earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. To add a concurrent degree to your existing degree, work with your academic advisor.
Joint programs, or jointly conferred degrees, are offered by more than one college and provide opportunities for students to take advantage of the academic strengths of two academic units. Upon graduation, students are awarded one degree and one diploma conferred by two colleges.
