Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.

Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = ''A'') in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program or a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = ''A'') in an applicable master's degree program.

Applicants are required to submit:

• graduate admissions application and application fee
• official transcripts
• resume
• proof of completion of a statistics course with a ''C'' or better
• proof of English proficiency

Additional Application Information
An applicant whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency regardless of current residency by scoring at least 4 on the Internet-based TOEFL® (iBT), or a score of 80 if taken before January 21, 2026 in a testing center; 6.5 on the IELTS; or 105 on the Duolingo English test.

Applicants applying to the RN to MS bridge option (those who will not have a bachelor's degree in nursing conferred before enrolling in the MS in nursing program) need to provide a transcript that shows at least 72 earned undergraduate credit hours from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent to apply to the master's degree program.

An interview with faculty may be required for applicants who have a bachelor's degree in nursing or higher. Applicants to the RN to MS bridge option are required to interview with faculty.

Students who are admitted with an associate degree will be required to complete additional coursework in their plan of study.

Completion of a statistics course with a "C" or better (scale is 4.00 = "A") should be evident on the applicant's transcripts, although applicants may still be admitted to the program with additional required coursework in statistics. Statistics is a required prerequisite for all MS in nursing programs.

Applicants must be able to verify U.S. citizenship or lawful immigration status. Applicants must live in or be able to come to an authorized state in the U.S. for any required clinical or practicum experiences.

Licensure requirements: Applicants for the MS in nursing must meet one of the following criteria:

• Applicants must hold a current unencumbered RN license in an authorized state in which they plan to do clinical practicums.
• Applicants who have recently graduated from a BSN program must provide proof of a valid U.S. RN license before beginning any courses in the second semester of the master's degree program.

Health and Safety Requirements: Students recommended for admission must meet health and safety requirements by established deadlines, including a passing disposition on a background clearance, satisfactory completion of a substance screen, and other requirements as a condition of admission.

Graduates are part of a highly skilled workforce capable of driving excellence and innovation in clinical research and health care delivery. They are prepared for diverse career opportunities in clinical research organizations (national and international), governmental and regulatory agencies, the pharmaceutical industry and medical device companies, hospitals and other health care institutions, and academic research institutions. Graduates may work in roles such as:

• clinical research associate
• clinical research coordinator
• clinical trial manager
• regulatory affairs specialist
• research nurse

Graduates are also well-suited for positions in government agencies like the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as nonprofit organizations focused on health care research and patient advocacy. In these roles, graduates will contribute to the execution and management of clinical trials, ensuring ethical compliance, regulatory adherence and the advancement of evidence-based health care solutions.
