The certificate program in bespoke tailoring introduces you to the sustainable craft of authentic, handmade, bespoke tailoring, a centuries-old practice rooted in the traditions of Savile Row in London, "Sartoria su misura" in Milan, and "Haute Couture" in Paris. "Bespoke" refers to custom-made clothing tailored specifically to the individual's style and preferences. Emphasizing craftsmanship, artistry and sustainability, the program explores bespoke as a form of wearable art that combines sculptural design, architectural precision, and hand-worked cloth construction.
You study the historical and cultural origins of bespoke tailoring while developing professional, career-ready skills in design, pattern drafting and garment construction. Through the creation of tailored blazers and trousers, you learn to select appropriate fabrics, adapt and mark patterns, and master hand-stitching and molding techniques using the iron, mirroring traditional Savile Row apprenticeship methods. This program distinguishes bespoke from ready-to-wear and made-to-measure production, preparing you to uphold the values of sustainability, individuality and craftsmanship in contemporary fashion design.

A student pursuing an undergraduate certificate must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at ASU. Undergraduate certificates are not awarded before the completion of an undergraduate degree. A student who already holds an undergraduate degree may pursue an undergraduate certificate as a nondegree-seeking graduate student.
More than 300 study abroad opportunities are available through the Global Education Office giving students the ability to tailor their experience to their specific interests and skill sets. Students looking for a fashion program can spend a summer session exploring the sites, culture, language, heritage and fashion in either France or Italy along with distinguished ASU FIDM faculty.
Graduates are prepared for careers in high-end custom fashion, including roles as bespoke or custom tailors, pattern cutters, garment technicians, and luxury atelier specialists. They may also pursue opportunities in costume design, heritage craft preservation, or in sustainable fashion studios focused on made-to-measure production.

Program term definitions
Accelerated programs allow students the opportunity to expedite the completion of their degree.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master's during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
Concurrent degrees allow students to pursue their own personal or professional interests, earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. To add a concurrent degree to your existing degree, work with your academic advisor.
Joint programs, or jointly conferred degrees, are offered by more than one college and provide opportunities for students to take advantage of the academic strengths of two academic units. Upon graduation, students are awarded one degree and one diploma conferred by two colleges.
