In the nonprofit professional certificate program, you prepare for leadership and management roles in the nonprofit sector while earning eligibility for the Certified Nonprofit Professional credential. The CNP is awarded through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, a national consortium that develops leaders for careers in community and social organizations. https://nla1.org/
The curriculum follows a competency-based, experiential model that integrates coursework in fundraising, volunteer management and organizational leadership with applied field experience. You build skills in program planning, resource management and team leadership while connecting classroom learning to community-based practice.

The program includes active participation by nonprofit professionals who offer workshops, seminars, mentoring and field trips. The certified nonprofit professional credential can be earned in conjunction with any bachelor's degree and requires successful participation in co-curricular, experiential activities in addition to required academic coursework. |

A minimum ASU GPA of 2.00 is required for those pursuing the certificate. |
A student pursuing an undergraduate certificate must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at ASU. Undergraduate certificates are not awarded before to the completion of an undergraduate degree. A student who already holds an undergraduate degree may pursue an undergraduate certificate as a nondegree-seeking graduate student.
Program learning outcomes identify what a student will learn or be able to do upon completion of their program. This program’s learning outcomes include the following:
- Utilize self-evaluation and self-critique when proposing creative solutions to complex social issues.
- Prescribe their individual strengths and knowledge effectively within the social sector and related fields by creating well-structured career position plans.
Graduates have expanded career opportunities across the nonprofit and community sectors. They are well prepared to apply their leadership and management skills to advance the missions of organizations focused on areas such as arts and culture, environmental sustainability, health and human services, and youth development.

Program term definitions
Accelerated programs allow students the opportunity to expedite the completion of their degree.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master's during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
Concurrent degrees allow students to pursue their own personal or professional interests, earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. To add a concurrent degree to your existing degree, work with your academic advisor.
Joint programs, or jointly conferred degrees, are offered by more than one college and provide opportunities for students to take advantage of the academic strengths of two academic units. Upon graduation, students are awarded one degree and one diploma conferred by two colleges.
